Tournament Formats
 

Amateur:  This is a three-day, 54-hole stroke play event with the first round to be scheduled on Friday and the final two rounds on consecutive Saturday/Sunday.  Entry requires each player to have an attested USGA handicap index of 8.5 or better to participate.

After the first round, the field will be cut to 40 players and ties for the second round and third rounds.

**Optional Change to format:  After the first round, the field will be cut by 30% or to 60 players and ties, whichever is lower. All 2nd Rd. players will play 18 holes on Saturday with a cut to the low 30 players and ties for continuation of play for Sunday’s Final round.  If there is a tie at the conclusion of Sunday’s round, a three-hole play-off, followed by ‘Sudden Death’ will be used to determine a Champion.

 

Match Play:  Entry requires each player to have an attested USGA handicap index of 8.5 or better to participate.  The Qualifying round will be held on Monday through Friday limiting the field to 16 players in Match Play competition.  The 18-hole Matches will commence on Saturday with two rounds, followed by Sunday’s semifinals and final rounds to determine the champion.

**Optional Change to format(Must have BOD approval):  :  The qualifying field will be reduced to 32 players for the Matches.  The qualifying round must be held at least one day removed from the first days’ matches, which would begin on a Friday.

 

Partners Championship:  This is a two-day, 36-hole stroke play event and may be scheduled Monday through Sunday as appropriate.  Current format:

First Round:        Four-ball;

Second Round:    Four-some (modified alternate shot).  The players shall both play from the teeing ground.  They shall cross over and play their partners ball.  They shall choose which player’s ball to play and alternate until the ball is holed out.

Note 1:  Beginning in 2010, the field will be broken into additional flight(s), depending on the number of entries.

 

Senior Amateur:  This is a two-day, 36-hole stroke play event.  Competition will be by two divisions (Overall and Super Senior) and also in age groups (Overall, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over). 

Note 1:  The addition of a Super Senior division will be added beginning in 2010.  Players, who are 65 years of age and older, will play from adjusted Senior tees.

Note 2:  Individuals 65 yrs or older wishing to compete for the ‘Overall’ Championship must check the      60-64 age group and will compete in that age group and from the men’s tees.

 

Junior/Senior:  This is a one-day 18-hole, stroke play event - four ball competition.  One partner MUST be 50 years of age or over and the other partner must be under 50 years of age, both at the time of the event. 

Note:  The addition of a Father/Son division will be added beginning in 2004.  A Grandfather/Grandson teams will qualify under the Father/Son division.

 

Senior Partners:  This is an 18-hole stroke play - four ball competition.  This one-day event is to be scheduled Monday through Friday at the choice of the host club.  Both partners must be 50 years of age and over at the time of the event.

Note:  An addition Super-Senior division will be added beginning in 2004.  Both playing partners must be 65 years of age to be eligible.

The following lists the minimum number of rounds for each event to be declared official:

 

Amateur:    36 holes

 

Match Play:    Qualifying followed by four rounds of match play.

 

Senior Amateur:    18 holes

 

Partners:    18 holes

 

Junior-Senior:    18 holes

 

Senior Partners:  18 holes
