ELIGIBILITY:
The Junior Championship is open to male and female golfers who 1)
will be 13 to 18 years of age by the date of the tournament and 2)
who are either children of members of a Member Club belonging to the
Berks County Golf Association or whose parents/guardians are
residents of Berks County.
FIELD LIMIT:
60 Players
COMPETITION: The Junior Championship
will be played over 27 holes of Stroke Play with the lowest total
score determining the individual champion. There will be three age
group divisions of competition: 13-14; 15-16 & 17-18. Depending on
the number of female entries, there may be a separate division for
young women.
FORMAT: The Junior Championship will be
a 27 hole stroke play competition. All players will play 18 holes in
the morning. The 17-18 age division will play from tees of
approximate 6600-6800 yards. The 15-16 and the 13-14 age divisions
will play from tees of approximate 6000-6200 yards. The fields will
be reduced to the low 40% of the players and ties after the morning
round. In case of a tie for the lowest score at the conclusion of
the 27 holes, a ‘Sudden Death’ playoff will be used to determine the
Overall Junior Champion and the Top Place finishers in the 15-16 and
13-14 age divisions.
*NOTE:
Players who are 13-16 years of age who wish to compete for the
“Overall” Junior Championship must indicate this
desire in writing and will play from the 17-18 age division tees
(see above). Proof of playing ability may be required prior to
approval. Players who are 13-16 years of age who wish to compete for
the “Overall” Championship will not be eligible for
recognition in the lower age divisions.
PRIZES: Overall Champion and top place
finishers in each Age Division.
TEE TIME: 1st
Round - 18 holes, approximate 8:30am shotgun.
2nd
Round - 9 Holes, tee times beginning around 1:30-2pm.
